How to Use the IVG 2400 (and Can You Charge It?)

Got yourself an IVG 2400? It's an easy device to like — four flavour pods in one unit, 2400 puffs, nothing to set up. It's also the device I get the most questions about, and nearly all of them are really the same question: how do I charge it? So let's do the full walkthrough, including the answer nobody puts on the box.

What the IVG 2400 actually is

The IVG 2400 is a four-pod device: inside the shell are four separate 2ml pods, each rated at about 600 puffs, for 2400 puffs total. A carousel mechanism in the base rotates between them, so it's effectively four disposables in one body — that's the "4 in 1" on the packaging. UK versions carry 20mg/ml nic salt liquid, the legal maximum, and 8ml of liquid in total.

Puff-count context: 2400 puffs is roughly 160–240 cigarettes' worth of puffing. One device replaces a lot of smoking.

How to use it, step by step

1. Unwrap everything. Take off the outer film, then pull the protective cap off the mouthpiece. Check for a small silicone bung on the mouthpiece itself — it needs to come out too, or you'll be pulling against a sealed tube.

2. Just inhale. There's no button and no power switch. The IVG 2400 is draw-activated: put the mouthpiece to your lips and take a slow, steady pull. Short, smooth draws work better than long hard ones — you get warmer flavour and the coil keeps up.

3. Twist the base to change pods. Rotate the bottom section until it clicks. That moves you to the next of the four chambers — either a fresh flavour on the multi-flavour editions, or a fresh pod of the same flavour on the single-flavour ones. You can switch back to a half-used pod whenever you like.

4. Pace yourself. Back-to-back chain puffing overheats the coil and scorches the wick, which is how you end up with the burnt taste people blame on the device. A few seconds between puffs keeps the flavour clean.

5. Know when it's done. When a pod's vapour turns weak or burnt, twist to the next one. When all four are spent, the device is finished — dispose of it at a shop or recycling point that takes vapes, not in the bin, because there's a lithium battery in there.

Can you charge the IVG 2400?

No. This is the question that brings most people to this page, so here it is plainly: the original IVG 2400 has no charging port and no way to recharge it. Look at the base — there's nothing to plug in. The battery is sized to (just about) outlast the 8ml of liquid, which is how the device gets away with being single-use.

Three follow-ups people always ask:

• "Mine died but there's liquid left — can I revive it?" Unfortunately not. Long, deep draws drain the battery faster than the liquid, and once the battery's flat, the remaining juice is stranded. Shorter puffs make the battery and liquid run out closer together.
• "There's no light — is it charging when I plug it in?" There's nothing to plug in. If you've got an IVG device with a USB-C port, you have one of the newer rechargeable kits — see below.
• "How do I know when it's fully finished?" No vapour, or weak/burnt vapour, on all four pods. There's no battery indicator on this device.

The 2025 ban, and what replaced it

The IVG 2400 was a casualty of the UK's single-use vape ban on 1 June 2025 — as a non-rechargeable, non-refillable device, it can no longer legally be sold here. IVG's answer was to move the same four-flavour idea into rechargeable 4-in-1 pod kits (the IVG Air line), which take the same flavours as pods and charge over USB-C.

If you've got one of those newer kits, everything above about draw-activation and pod-switching still applies — the difference is that a dying battery just means plugging it in, and instead of binning the device you swap pods.

Getting the most out of it

Store it at room temperature — heat thins the liquid and cold mutes the flavour, and a car dashboard in summer manages to do both. Keep it upright in a bag so the mouthpiece stays clean. And if you find you're draining pods much faster than you expect, that's usually draw length, not a faulty device: long six-second pulls use several puffs' worth of liquid in one go.
