How Many Puffs in a Lost Mary?

The Lost Mary — made by the same company as the Elf Bar — earned its following on flavour and a shape that's nicer to hold than a cig-a-like bar. But the question everyone asks is the one on the box: how many puffs do you actually get?

The advertised number, and where it comes from

The classic Lost Mary BM600 is rated at 600 puffs from 2ml of 20mg/ml nic salt liquid — the same core spec as most UK disposable-style devices, because 2ml and 20mg/ml are the legal limits.

That 600 figure isn't a lie, but it is a lab number. Puff counts are measured by machines taking short, identical puffs of about a second under ideal conditions. It's a fair way to compare device against device; it's a poor prediction of what you'll get, because nobody vapes like the machine.

What you'll actually get: 300–400

Vaped like a human, a "600-puff" device usually delivers 300–400 puffs. Three things drive the gap:

• Draw length. This is the big one. A relaxed four-to-six-second draw pulls through several machine-puffs' worth of liquid. Someone taking 2ml in long draws might empty the device in half the rated count.
• Draw style. The rating assumes gentle mouth-to-lung puffs. Deeper, lung-filling draws move more vapour per puff.
• Battery. Long draws also work the battery harder, and on single-use devices the battery occasionally taps out just before the liquid does.

None of this is unique to Lost Mary — the same discount applies to every disposable-style device on the shelf. As a rule of thumb, take any advertised puff count and multiply by about 0.6 for a realistic figure.

In cigarettes, if that's your yardstick

At 10–15 puffs per cigarette, 600 rated puffs is roughly 40–60 cigarettes' worth of puffing — two to three packs. If you're switching from smoking, the more practical version is: about 12–13 vape puffs stand in for one cigarette, and a moderate ex-smoker usually makes one device last two to four days. Making one last longer

If your Lost Marys keep dying young, the fix is technique, not luck:

• Shorten your draws. Two seconds, not six. You lose nothing — nic salt liquid delivers its hit without heroic pulls.
• Space your puffs. A pause between draws keeps the wick fed and stops the "weak vapour" phase arriving early. It also protects you from the burnt taste a hot, dry coil produces.
• Put it down at satisfied. Obvious, but disposables invite grazing. Treat a craving like a cigarette break — a handful of puffs, then pocket it.

The ban, and today's Lost Mary

Single-use Lost Marys went off UK shelves with the disposable vape ban on 1 June 2025. The brand's current UK line-up is rechargeable — same flavours, same 2ml/20mg pods, USB-C on the bottom.
